This male is a superior black with long bundles of dense, soft handling, crimping fibre. He is fine and carries a very low level of fine guard hair. His sire, Black Onyx was a multiple show champion and his dam is one of our best black females on the farm at Cedar House Australia . It was a genetic mix deliberately selected to produce Cedar House Onyx as a superior male with different genetics to most other black lines. His sister in Australia has produced an exceptional male this year. We are certain of his capabilities as a herd improver for the black population of females. With his fleece softness and lack of guard hair, Cedar House Onyx will be a male to consider in the improvement of the black fleece towards fineness and density. ONYX was shown only twice in Australia and won first place at both shows (Sydney Royal 2009 and the 2010 National show ) the biggest show in Australia. Onyx now has 3 crias in the UK available to view and many more coming in NZ and the UK.
Many services in NZ were sold realising his qualities and the fact that he has both solid black parents.
